Originally built across the ocean in Europe, the Ancient Spanish Monastery is a venue unlike any other. With picturesque gardens and jaw-dropping interior spaces, it gives you the perfect atmosphere for an unforgettable celebration! As a Miami Beach wedding photographer, I get to go behind the scenes of some amazing venues. Here’s what sets an Ancient Spanish Monastery wedding apart from the rest!

About The Ancient Spanish Monastery Wedding Venue

16711 West Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, Florida 33160

Long before it started hosting weddings, the Monastery of St. Bernard de Clairvaux served as a home for Cistercian monks in Northern Spain. It finished construction in 1141 and stood as a sacred space for 700 years until a social revolution seized and sold the property. It was purchased by William Randolph Hearst in 1925, and he ordered the Cloisters and the Monastery outbuildings to be taken apart and brought over in thousands of crates. The building was then reconstructed right here in Miami Beach. In 1964, it was turned into an active parish that continues to host weekly services. The church welcomes all couples to come and celebrate on the grounds.
